Colorado Culture Change Coalition

Alongside two incredibly talented designers, I had the opportunity to help reimagine the brand identity and website for Colorado Culture Change Coalition — an organization dedicated to creating dignity-centered, community-driven cultural transformation.

Problem

The Colorado Culture Change Coalition (CCCC), a nonprofit advocating for dignity-driven elder care and cultural transformation, was operating with an outdated visual identity and website that no longer reflected its values, mission, or evolving audience.

The logo lacked meaning and flexibility, and the website had accessibility issues, poor structure, and an inconsistent visual experience across devices. There was a clear opportunity to reintroduce CCCC with a renewed sense of clarity, warmth, and community connection—through strategic branding and modern, inclusive web design.

Context

Platform:
Web (desktop + mobile), print, digital brand assets

Team: 3-person design team

My Role:

Lead visual designer on branding and logo development

UI designer for full website redesign

Collaborated on site architecture, accessibility strategy, and content planning

Constraints:

  • Avoiding orange tones due to prior stakeholder feedback

  • Strict accessibility requirements (WCAG AAA)

  • Nonprofit budget and timeline limitations

  • Design had to resonate with both professional stakeholders and community members

Process

We began with a deep dive into CCCC’s mission, values, and audiences through stakeholder interviews and site audits. The team conducted a visual brand audit and mapped pain points across the existing site.

Each designer then moved into the exploration phase for possible logo concepts and visual brand identities. After multiple client meetings, we landed on my concept centered around the metaphor of a beehive, which represented community, structure, and shared purpose.

From there, we each moved into designing our assigned deliverables, mine being the website redesign and brand guidelines document. In doing so, I:

  • Developed moodboards, logo concepts, and a full brand system (color, typography, imagery)

  • Conducted accessibility testing to ensure AAA-compliance across text and interactive elements

  • Designed a couple variations of the new website for client feedback and buy-in from the organization's board members

Solution

The result was a completely refreshed brand and website that better tells CCCC’s story and invites engagement.

  • new logo system inspired by a stylized beehive: grounded, modern, and symbolic

  • warm, accessible color palette with AAA contrast

  • Clean, responsive website with clearly defined content sections, intuitive navigation, and improved hierarchy

  • Strong focus on inclusivity and accessibility, meeting WCAG AAA guidelines across text and visual elements

  • Supporting materials: Brand guidelines booklet, updated event flyers, and social templates

Impact

Improved clarity and confidence in CCCC’s visual identity, praised by board members and partner organizations

  • Website traffic increased within the first 30 days post-launch

  • Brand assets are now consistent across platforms and easier for internal teams to use

  • Most importantly, the new identity more clearly communicates CCCC’s mission of dignity, collaboration, and cultural change
